Sophie rubbed her lips together What is this, a family reunion? she thought to herself as his mother told them that they would have to wait for his father. So instead of just one parent it would have to be both of them, only making Sophie feel more awkward. She usually was able to keep her cool under pressure, but this time was different. Ever since Edward and Sophie were friends and she turned thirteen, she noticed Edward's father always giving her these real creepy stares and smiles. At times it had even made her shudder because it was too uncomfortable to be in the same room with him. Sophie was contemplating making an excuse to leave, and it wouldn't be hard to do because the lies she made up always seemed really believeable. But she figured it would be way too awkward if right after she had sat down, she had to leave just because his father was mentioned so she smiled a little and said "thats fine" and waited. [ok dont kill me for adding that part but i figured it'd be nice to have a little drama lol  ] |

[Ooh the oogling eyed father. I actually like that twist. Bored suburban dads do that all the time lol.]
Edwards mother went back in the kitchen to grab a pitcher of lemonade.
"Want a roll?" Edward asked as he reached over the table to grab one for himself.

Sophie spaced out as soon as the mother left for the kitchen. It seemed as if she was looking into the kitchen but really she was thinking about the other times that Edward's father made her feel uncomfortable. Then hearing Edward's voice she closed her eyes then looked at him "huh....what did you say?" she asked since she really wasn't paying attention

"Oh, yeah sure I guess....." she said as she grabbed the roll from his hand. "thanks" she said with a nod as she pulled out a piece and put it in her mouth waiting until she heard the door open...

Edward nodded as she took it. Pulling off a piece of his own roll as he waited. He leaned back in his chair looking around. Until he heard the sound of the door open. "Looks like we can finally eat now," he smiled to Sophie.
"Smells good in here hun," his father smiled as he walked into the kitchen to give his wife a kiss on the cheek. He headed into the dining room and noticed Sophie there instantly. "Oh, we have a guest for dinner?" he asked.
Edward nodded and said, "You remember, Sophie, right?"
"Yeah, of course I do," his father smiled as he took a seat at his usual spot.

Before the door open Sophie bit into her bread roll and let out a sigh as she chewed. Truth was that she was getting a little exhausted from her busy day. Then she heard the door open just great she thought as she heard Edward's dad's footsteps get closer and closer until he was in plain sight. Sophie swallowed the piece of bread and cleared her throat a little "hello Mr. Cullen" she said trying to hold up a smile

"Hey Sophie. Haven't seen you around in a while," Mr Cullen smiled. "How are your parents? And are you going to college right now?" he asked casually. Making sure to control his eyes since his son was staring right at him.
Edward ate his roll as he watched their exchange. "Hey no need to bombard her with questions, dad."

Sophie looked at Edward then at his dad. Edward's parents never knew about Sophie's parents situation but Edward did so whenever asked about her parents she just replied with "my parents are doing fine, and yeah I decided to move here to go to school" she nodded. Her motive for moving was obviously not school, but of course, she had to lie so they wouldn't keep asking question after question if she told them the truth. She then took another bite of her bread roll and started to chew it.

"Oh so you go to university out here? That's good. Eddie sent an application there," his father nodded.
Edward sighed before leaning back in his seat. Hoping his dad would stop asking questions and they could just eat dinner already.

"Sure, Sophie," Mrs Cullen replied with a nod as she took the cutlery out of a drawer.
Edward rolled his eyes at his father before taking a sip of his water. He hated how his parents always asked about school and so forth to his friends. Kinda scares them off. Not keep em there.

Sopie nodded as she gathered the plates. Edward's father sure wanted to know a lot about her and even though she wanted to tell him it was none of his business, she couldn't be rude as a guest in someones house, and she didn't want to get Edward more upset by letting his father grill her with more questions so she decided to flee the scene.

Mrs. Cullen grabbed the right amount of spoons, forks, and knives. Then headed towards the dining room. She set down the cutlery at each place setting.
